Meet Deborah
Deborah is a trauma-informed psychotherapist and group facilitator with a deep commitment to relational healing. Known for her compassionate and grounded presence, she creates an environment where clients feel safe enough to explore their inner world and where vulnerability is met with respect—not rushed or pathologised.
Her therapeutic lens is informed by trauma and attachment theory, and she is particularly drawn to working with people navigating the complexities of ADD complex trauma, chronic illness, interpersonal challenges, workplace dynamics, and significant life transitions, from adolescence to retirement.
Deborah’s work is built on the belief that healing happens not in isolation, but in connection, with ourselves, with our stories, and with others who understand. She has supported clients across a range of community and clinical settings, including RYSS (Regional Youth Support Services), where she worked with young people facing complex rauma and identity struggles, and Mindful Synergi, where she walked alongside adults processing grief, relationship ruptures, and life changes.
Curious about working together? Let’s connect.
She holds training in a wide range of therapeutic and integrative modalities, including:
-
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
-
Emotion-Focused Therapy
-
Felt Sense and Somatic Practices
All sessions are person-centred and integrative, meaning Deborah thoughtfully adapts her approach based on each client’s unique needs, history, and hopes.
My Approach
At The Purpose Place, the heart of the work lies in offering a space where individuals can feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported, no matter where they are on their journey. Deborah’s therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, safety, and respect. She brings a deeply relational and body-aware presence into her practice, drawing on both personal experience and professional training to hold space for healing, insight, and transformation.
Deborah doesn’t see people as problems to be fixed. She sees people as whole, complex beings navigating a world that often doesn’t make space for their full experience, especially when they live with chronic illness, rare diseases, or the impacts of trauma. Through trauma-informed, integrative psychotherapy, she supports clients to reconnect with themselves, reclaim their stories, and move forward in ways that feel true to them.
