Deborah Lowndes is an integrative psychotherapist and the founder of The Purpose Place. She offers secure, confidential telehealth psychotherapy to clients across Australia and in-person consultations on the Mid North Coast of NSW with a focus on supporting individuals navigating chronic illness, grief, emotional distress, life transitions, and longstanding relational patterns.

Booking a telehealth consultation is straightforward and flexible. All sessions are conducted online via a secure video platform, making therapy accessible from the comfort and privacy of each client’s own space.

Whether someone is seeking short-term guidance or long-term therapeutic support, online psychotherapy with Deborah provides a consistent, grounded environment to explore what matters most.

At The Purpose Place, I offer a calm, trauma-informed environment where you can feel safe, seen, and supported. Whether you’re navigating a current life challenge or seeking deeper personal growth, this consultation is a space to explore whether therapy here feels like the right path for you.

My approach is shaped not only by clinical training but also by a deeply personal understanding of life’s complexities. I work with empathy, curiosity, and a belief in each person’s capacity for growth, even when life feels uncertain or overwhelming.

I create a respectful, attuned space where therapy unfolds at your pace. Whether you’re processing long-held pain, facing a life transition, or simply seeking a place to reflect, I offer compassionate, evidence-based support rooted in both professional knowledge and lived experience.

Frequently asked questions

What happens in a typical session?

Each session is a space for you to speak freely, reflect, and explore whatever feels most important. Some days we might focus on recent events; other times we may gently explore deeper patterns, emotions, or past experiences. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out, this is your time, and I’ll support you at your own pace.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

There’s no set timeframe, it really depends on your needs, goals, and what feels right for you. Some people come for short-term support during a challenging time, while others engage in longer-term therapy to work more deeply. We’ll check in regularly to reflect on your progress and needs.

Do I need to talk about my past?

Only if and when you feel ready. While early experiences can influence how we relate to ourselves and others, therapy isn’t about rehashing everything. We might explore the past if it helps make sense of what’s happening now, but always in a way that feels safe and grounded.
