A Glimpse into the Therapy Room

The Purpose Place Psychotherapy & Counselling
Starting therapy can feel like stepping into the unknown—especially if you’ve had past experiences that left you feeling unseen, rushed, or judged. At The Purpose Place, I want you to know that this space is different.
Here’s what you can expect when we work together.
Starting where you are
You don’t need to have the “right words” or a clear agenda to begin. Sometimes people arrive overwhelmed, unsure, or just carrying a sense that something’s off. That’s okay. You’re not expected to be anything other than who you are, right now.
Guided by Curiosity, Not Assumptions
My role isn’t to “fix” you—but to walk alongside you as we explore your experiences with care and curiosity. I’ll often ask gentle questions that invite reflection or body awareness. Sometimes we talk. Other times, we may pause, breathe, or notice what’s showing up in your nervous system.
Everything is invitational. You are always in control.
A Collaborative Process
Therapy with me is a two-way relationship. I’ll bring my presence, training, and insight—but your voice matters just as much. Together, we co-create a rhythm that feels safe and workable for you. We may sit with emotion, explore patterns, or imagine new possibilities. Sometimes, we’ll find spaciousness in the silence.
A Personalised, Integrative Approach
As an integrative psychotherapist, I don’t work from a single method or manual. Instead, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches—body-based, relational, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed—depending on what best supports you.
No two people are the same, and neither is their therapy. That’s why our work together will be tailored to your unique history, needs, and pace. Whether we focus more on emotional insight, nervous system regulation, meaning-making, or simply learning how to feel safe again, our direction is shaped by you.
Trauma-Informed & Body-Aware
Because so many people I work with carry the weight of trauma, chronic illness, or emotional overwhelm, my approach is always trauma-informed. That means we go at your pace. We honour your boundaries. And we work gently with the body—whether through grounding, breath awareness, or simply noticing what you feel.
This isn’t a space of pressure. It’s a place where we pay close attention to what feels right and safe for you.
An Invitation to Come Home to Yourself
Clients often say things like, “I didn’t realise I was allowed to feel this way,” or “It feels good to be seen without having to explain everything.” That’s what I hope to offer: a place where your inner world is met with respect, warmth, and thoughtful presence.
If you’re wondering whether this kind of therapy is the right fit for you, I offer a free 15-minute Telehealth consultation. It’s a chance to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide whether you’d like to take the next step.
